Netflix’s New F1 Series Promises A Proper Behind-The-Scenes Look

Netflix has dropped the first trailer for its new series on F1, titled ‘Formula 1:Drive to Survive’. The new series, which will span 10 episodes, is officially backed by Formula 1 and promises to give a proper behind-the-scenes look to the No.1 motorsport championship in the world.

“Formula 1: Drive to Survive” was created from the makers of Senna and Amy, and will launch on March 8. It will include insights into the personal lives of F1 pilots, team principals, and owners.

The series will also focus on each round of the 2018 championship, following the F1 circus from the Melbourne opener all the way to the final race in Abu Dhabi.

“This truly unique series embodies the sport and helps us to showcase and unearth the untold stories on and off the track,” said Ian Holmes, Director of Media Rights. “Partnering with Netflix to create an original series puts us at the forefront of becoming a media and entertainment brand and attracting new fans to the sport.”

The trailer for the new F1 docuseries focuses mainly on the pilots and their unlucky moments during the season, trying to display their competitive mindset and superior driving skill, as well as the dangers of the sport.

“F1 has long been a world of colorful characters and super-sized ego’s, thrills and drama, victory and tragedy but until now that world has been largely hidden and secretive from fans,” said Paul Martin of Box to Box Films. “Formula 1: Drive to Survive takes the viewers right into the heart of this world and shows what it is like to live, work and race within the world’s fastest sport.”
