2019 Jaguar F-Type Gains Larger Infotainment System And Standard Torque Vectoring

The Jaguar F-Type is entering the 2019 model year with a host of minor changes.

Car and Driver reports the updated model will hit U.S. showrooms in May with prices starting at $61,745. That’s a modest increase of $850 but it will get drivers behind the wheel of the entry-level coupe which has been renamed the P300.

Despite sporting a new designation, the model continues to be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 296 hp (220 kW) and 295 lb-ft (399 Nm) of torque. It is paired exclusively to an eight-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels. This setup enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds.

Next up is the F-Type P340 which starts at $69,845. It features a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 producing 340 hp (253 kW) and 332 lb-ft (449 Nm) of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard but an automatic gearbox is available for an additional $1,300.

Moving up the ladder is the F-Type P380 which replaces the F-Type S. It features a familiar supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with 380 hp (283 kW) and 339 lb-ft (459 Nm) of torque.

The F-Type 400 Sport has been dropped so the next model is the F-Type R which has a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 developing 550 hp (410 kW) and 502 lb-ft (679 Nm) of torque. The $101,745 model has an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system which enables it to run from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds before topping out at 186 mph (299 km/h).

Finally, the range-topping F-Type SVR retails for $123,745. It rewards buyers with an even more powerful V8 engine producing 575 hp (428 kW) and 516 lb-ft (698 Nm) of torque. Thanks to the extra power, the coupe rockets from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds before hitting the magic 200 mph (321 km/h) mark.

Besides the minor name changes, all F-Type reportedly receive a standard torque vectoring system and a larger infotainment system with a 10-inch display. Drivers will also find a frameless rearview mirror and a new “SVO Premium Palette” with 18 colors.
